Robot-sumo

Robotersumo is the implementation of the wrestling sport sumo for mobile robots.

When Robotersumo two robots try to push each other out of a circular zone. The robot then act autonomously, they will during the fight not remotely (except the robot Humanoid class ). The one robot leaves the circular zone first, lost. To make it easier to push the opponent out of the zone to be different "weapons", mostly used different types of blades.

Fighting is done in different classes: Mega Sumo, Mini Sumo, Sumo Micro, Nano Sumo, Sumo Lego and Humanoid. Depending on the class different limits on the size and weight of the robot apply. In the Lego Sumo robot class only allowed to compete, which are built of Lego parts. Robots that compete in the Humanoid class must possess and can go a head, two arms and legs.

Since 2010, the European Championships in Robotersumo in the context of the competition " Robot Challenge" will be held in Vienna. 2010 were 270 robots from 16 countries before about 4000 visitors.

Regular competitions in Robotersumo find application in the following countries: USA, Japan, France, Austria and Slovakia
