Roche Bobois is a French company that sells furniture in the upper price segment.

History

In 1950, Philippe and François Roche, Jean -Claude and Patrick Chouchan met at the Salon of Copenhagen. They had the idea of importing Scandinavian furniture to Paris. The families Roche and Chouchan decided to expand their business with "gift" shops to sell Scandinavian accessories. These boutiques were called " objets d' Compléments " had the fabrics, dishes and wallpapers in the range. In 1961 the first national advertising campaign in the Elle magazine has been realized. This was switched twice a year for about the next 50 years. The first store outside Europe was opened in 1973 in Canada. The following year, stores followed in the U.S. and Spain. With the collection " Les Voyages ", which came on the market in the 1990s, the company responded to the trend of ethnic furniture. In 1995, opened the first shop in Italy.

Since 2011, the brand is represented in 45 countries with 250 stores. 80 of which are company-owned stores. In 2012, the company generated for the first time more than half of its sales internationally, which is attributed mainly to the growth in the North American market. There, the brand with the business of New York -Madison has been represented since 1974 and North America thus became the second pillar of Roche Bobois.

In 2013, Roche Bobois strengthened its international presence with the opening of 15 additional stores in more than ten countries such as Singapore, Colombia, Indonesia and Bulgaria.

Designer
