Rockdale County, Georgia

The Rockdale County is a county located in the state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Conyers.

Geography

The County is located in north-central Georgia and has an area of 342 square kilometers, of which four square kilometers of water surface, and borders clockwise to the following counties: Walton County, Newton County, Henry County, DeKalb County and Gwinnett County.

History

Rockdale County was formed as a 133 County in Georgia from portions of Henry County and Newton County on 18 October 1870. It was named after the Rockdale Church.
