Rocky Boy Indian Reservation

The Rocky Boy's Reservation is an Indian reservation of the Chippewa and Cree Indians in the U.S. state of Montana. It is the smallest reservation in Montana, was founded in 1916 and is located in Hill County in northern Montana, about 60 miles from the Canadian border. About 2,500 people live here.

The name of the reserve comes from a mistranslation of the name of a tribal leader, whose name would translate rather with Stone Child ( Stone Child).

The Rocky Boys Reservation is governed by the Chippewa Cree Business Committee, currently chaired by John "Chance" Houle.

2005 was a plan, according to which an Indian casino with the name " North Winz " is to be built on Highway 87. Unemployment on the reservation in 2005 was 68%.
