Rod Amateau

Rodney " Rod" Amateau ( born December 20, 1923 in New York City, USA, † June 29, 2003 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American screenwriter, producer and director.

Amateau worked mainly since the 1950s for the U.S. television and produced in the 1970s and - 80s, a series of movies in which he also directed. Great deal of attention was his commercial and artistic failure of the movie The Schmuddelkinder (1987). In 1988 he wrote the screenplay for the film Sunset - Dawn in Hollywood. In 1989 he retired from the film business.

For the Bob Cummings Show Amateau was nominated for an Emmy in 1956. He directed several episodes of the series The Dukes of Hazzard, and starred in several episodes as a supporting actor.
