Rodger Kamenetz

Rodger Kamenetz ( born 1950 in Baltimore) is an American poet and author. He studied at Yale University, Stanford University and Johns Hopkins University. He lives in New Orleans and is an emeritus after he worked as a professor of English and Religious Studies at Louisiana State University. He was equally as Erich and Lea Sternberg Honors Professor operate.

He is known as author of The Jew in the Lotus and had it dealt with the inter-religious dialogue between Judaism and Tibetan Buddhism. The book published in 1994 is regarded as veritable manifesto of the Buddhists of the Jewish faith in America. Rodger Kamenetz coined here the term " JUBUS " as an expression of this dual identity.

In 1996, he had used for a meeting with the Dalai Lama in Dharamsala in Interfaith Action Network for the liberation of the Panchen Lama.

He has authored books of poetry, according to The Lowercase Jew (2003) and The Missing Jew: New and Selected Poems (1991). Kamenetz is married to the writer Moira Crone. Anya Kamenetz your daughter is as a writer.
