The Rodnaer mountains in Romania

The Rodnaer Mountains, also Rodna Mountains (Romanian Munţii Rodnei ) is located in northern Romania. The massif has a length of 50 km from east to west. It belongs to the northern mountain range of the Eastern Carpathians. 46 399 hectares of the Rodna Mountains are protected. The National Park Rodna Mountains National Park is the largest in Romania.

The highest peak of the mountain is 2303 m high Pietrosu Summit. The 2,000 -meter mark also exceed the Mountains (Romanian Varful )

In Rodnaer mountains there are many interesting caves (Romanian Peştera ), because the mountain is karstified.

  • Izvorul Tăuşoarelor, southern part in the settlement Parva in the mountain Basca, the length is 16 km
  • Baia lui Schneider tight, east of the village Valea Vinului, the length is 430 m
  • Grota Zânelor, in the center of the mountain, 4368 m length
  • Măglei on the western edge, near the settlement of Telcişor
  • Jgheabul lui Zalion on the western edge, near the forest home of the settlement Telcişor
  • Izvorul Albastru al Izei on the northern edge, at Borsa.
