The Rodney Parade is a stadium in the Welsh town of Newport. It is mainly used for rugby matches and football games. The stadium is located on the east bank of the River Usk and is home to the rugby union clubs Newport RFC and Newport Gwent Dragons and the football club Newport County AFC. The stadium holds 11,676 spectators and has two covered stands, the west across the Hazell Stand and the East on the Bisley stand in the north of the stadium is not a covered grandstand and in the South is next to the dressing rooms of the players and a media center, a small uncovered grandstand seating for the fans of the visiting team ( Sytner state ).

History

In 1875, the Newport Athletic Club was founded and two years later the use of land secured at Rodney Parade of Lord Tredegar. The country served the club for matches and training its cricket, tennis, and rugby teams. In the years 1901-1934 the Monmouthshire County Cricket Club used the stadium for its games. Since 2012, carries the Newport County football club from its home games at Rodney Parade.
