Rodrigo Cortés

Rodrigo Cortés Giráldez ( born May 31, 1973 in Pazos Hermus, Ourense, Galicia, Spain Province ) is a Spanish film director, film producer, screenwriter, editor, and occasional actor.

Career

Cortés ' passion for film began very early. At 16, he had already made his first short film on Super 8 film. In 1998 he directed the short film Yul, which won more than 20 prizes. In 2001, he published 15 Days, a fake documentary in the form of a longer short film, which won over 57 prices and thus is the Spanish film with most prices.

In 2007 he led at The Contestant ( Concursante in Spanish ) Director, which was his first long feature film. This was highly praised by the critics and won numerous awards, including the Critics Prize at the Malaga Film Festival. In 2010, he served as director and editor of the film Buried - Buried Alive operates. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and received considerable acclaim. In 2011, Cortés in the psychological thriller Red Lights directed, in which played along included Robert De Niro, Sigourney Weaver and Cillian Murphy. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival 2012 its premiere. 2012 was to be a psychological thriller Emergo (Apartment 143).
