Rodrigo Palacio

Rodrigo Sebastián Palacio ( born February 5, 1982 in Bahía Blanca) is an Argentine football player. His trademark is his Raittail he carries since the start of his football career.

Club career

Palacio is one of the players who has worked from the bottom to the very top by the Argentine leagues. Until 2001, he played at fourth division club Bella Vista and then moved to Erstligaaufsteiger Huracán Tres Arroyos from. When, after two years came the re descent, he moved to Club Atlético Banfield before and finally in 2005 to champion Boca Juniors.

There, the striker not only won once the Apertura ( Masters title of the first half of the season ), but also the Copa Sudamericana, a kind of South American UEFA Cup counterpart. Here, in the final first leg against the Pumas, he scored a goal. The Recopa, the duel with the winner of the Copa Libertadores, went to Bocas. As in the second half of the season (Clausura) again the championship title was brought to Argentina, he had 12 goals with the star of the team.

With the Bocas Palacio won by 2009 two more league titles and two more times the Recopa. He also won the 2007 Copa Libertadores, where he could score a goal in the final first leg against Gremio.

2009 Palacio moved to Europe and signed for Italian club Genoa, where he came in three seasons on 100 missions and scored 38 goals. His most successful season with the Genoese was the season 2011/ 12: In 34 competitive games he was able to achieve 21 results.

For the season 2012/13 he moved to Inter Milan. There Palacio added immediately into the team and despite a hamstring, under which he had to pause end of the season almost two months, achieving 22 goals in 39 official matches inserts.

On December 22, 2013 Palacio decided the prestigious Milan derby with a remarkable Hackentor 1-0 Final in the 86th minute.

National

Thanks to its outstanding performance in the Boca Juniors, he was appointed during the qualifying stage for the World Cup 2006 in Germany in the national team and included in the squad for the World Cup in Argentina.
