The Rodrigues Night Heron (Nycticorax megacephalus ) is known only from an old travel report by François Leguat, who described it in the 17th century. The heron was limited airworthy and lay greenish eggs, his plumage was similar to that of the commons night heron. The Rodrigues Night Heron was a good runner and poor fliers.
