Rogagua Lake

The Rogagua Lake ( Laguna Lake or Rogagua ) is a freshwater lake in the Pampa region of northern Bolivia.

Location

The lake is located in the center of the province Ballivián in Beni Department. The Rogagua lake lies at an altitude of 173 m, 45 km northeast of the provincial capital Reyes and 20 kilometers northwest of the city of Santa Rosa.

Size

The lake stretches from southwest to northeast over a length of 21 km and has a width of 9 km. Its shoreline is 52 km, and the water surface is 155 km ², so that the lake is the largest one in Bolivia.

Importance

The Rogagua Lake is an important freshwater reservoir for the people of the region and settled there for the wildlife. In addition, regular tourist trips to the lake from the town of Rurrenabaque in the southwest instead.
