Roger Alan Wade

Roger Alan Wade is an American songwriter and country singer. Wade has worked prior to his solo career for country singers like Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and George Jones. He wrote the song Country State of Mind (1986) for Hank Williams Jr., reached the second place of the Hot Country Songs. His songs and lyrics have been used several times in the TV show Jackass, in which his cousin Johnny Knoxville plays along. If You're Gonna Be Dumb, You Gotta Be Tough was in the movies Jackass: Number Two uses: The Movie and Jackass.

His lyrics often deal satirically with the clichés of the rednecks and the Honky Tonk.

For the 2011 deceased Ryan Dunn, he wrote "The Light Outlives the Star".
