Roger Asmussen

Roger Asmussen ( born September 6, 1936 in Bremerhaven ) is a German politician of the CDU.

Life and career

After high school studied Asmussen, the Evangelical Lutheran faith is economics at the Albert -Ludwigs- University of Freiburg, where he passed his examination in 1960 with a degree in economics. After he worked in various companies, he was from 1968 to 1983 Managing Director of the corporation's west coast eV Since 2004 he has been Chairman of the Board of the AOK Schleswig -Holstein. Since 2005 he is Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Foundation for Nature Protection Schleswig -Holstein.

Asmussen is married and has two children.

Party

Asmussen occurred in 1964, the Youth Union, and in 1968 the CDU. From 1974 to 1987 he was Chairman of the CDU district in Dithmar.

Member of Parliament

From 1970 to 1978, Asmussen council deputy in Dithmar.

Asmussen was from 1971 to 1988 member of the Landtag of Schleswig- Holstein. He represented the constituency Dithmar -South in Parliament. From 1979 to 1983 he was Deputy Chairman, after he had listened to the Group Executive Board since 1975. From May 18 1973 to his appointment to the state government, he was Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Parliament.

Public offices

Asmussen was on April 13, 1983 to May 31, 1988 Finance Minister of the State of Schleswig -Holstein. Since 9 June 1987, he was also the country next Minister of Economy and Transport.

Since 23 June 2005, Asmussen Nature Protection Officer of Schleswig- Holstein was the state government. On 4 January 2006, he resigned in protest against the conservation policy of the grand coalition by that office.

Honors

On October 13, 1978 Asmussen was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.
