Roger Donaldson

Roger Donaldson (* November 15, 1945 in Ballarat, Australia) is a New Zealand film director, producer and screenwriter of Australian origin.

Short Biography

Donaldson, who emigrated in 1965 at the age of 20, according to New Zealand was instrumental in setting up the local film industry. But his film debut, in 1977, produced thriller Sleeping Dogs, was the first feature film in 15 years, which was filmed in New Zealand, New Zealand and the first film ever made ​​it to the American cinema.

Donaldson had a few semesters studying geology, but the film business exercised such a strong attraction to him that he finally turned his back on the geology.
