Roger Guillemin
Roger Charles Louis Guillemin ( born January 11, 1924 in Dijon, Cote- d'Or, France ) is a French-American biochemist.
Guillemin joined Dijon University with a BA and B. Sc. from, then at the University of Lyon with the MD. From the University of Montreal, he received the Ph. D..
Guillemin made major works on the hypothalamus and, thus connected, via the Thyreoliberin. He works at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in La Jolla, California.
Honors
In 1977 he was awarded with Andrew Victor Schally the Nobel Prize in Medicine "for their discoveries concerning the production of peptide hormones in the brain ." Other honors:
