Roger III of Sicily

Roger III. (* 1175, † 1193 ) was the son and heir of King Tancred of Sicily.

His father arranged his marriage in 1193 with Irene, the daughter of the Byzantine Emperor Isaac II, and had his son crowned king. However, Roger died the following year, shortly before his father, who died on February 20, 1194. His younger brother William III. mounted under the regency of both mother, Sibyl of Acerra, the throne.

After the Emperor Henry VI. was withdrawn on November 20, 1194 in Palermo and had settled on December 25, William, married Rogers widow the following year, Henry 's brother Philip of Swabia.
