Roger Pratt (cinematographer)

Roger Pratt ( born February 27, 1947 in Leicester, United Kingdom ) is a British cinematographer.

Life

After finishing school he filmed the 1981 Oscar-winning short film The Dollar Bottom. In 1985, he worked with Terry Gilliam along with the film Brazil. Pratt and Gilliam became friends and worked together even when the two films The Fisher King and 12 Monkeys. Overall, Pratt was involved in over 35 films. Among his best known and most successful include Batman, 102 Dalmatians, Chocolat, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Troy and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Pratt is not only active as a cameraman, but also starred in television films and series with. His brother Vernon teaches as a professor of philosophy at Lancaster University.

Roger Pratt 2000 was nominated for the Academy Award and BAFTA Award for The End of the Affair. 2001 nominated him the British Society of Cinematographers and again the BAFTA for the film Chocolat. In addition, he received from the British Society of Cinematographers two nominations for Frankenstein (1994) and Shadowlands (1993).
