Roggenburg, Bavaria

Rye Castle is a municipality in the Swabian district of Neu-Ulm.

Rye Castle is known among other things by the monastery rye castle, which is now used again by the Order of Premonstratensian. Attached to the monastery is an environmental and cultural center with a supra-regional catchment area.

Geography

The municipality is located in the Danube-Iller region in central Bavaria. It is located 30 kilometers southeast of Ulm and 40 kilometers north of Memmingen. The districts Rye Castle, Biberach and Meßhofen be due to the beaver and the districts Ingstetten, shooting and Unteregg on Easter Bach. The municipality also includes the Rye Castle courtyards Dirrfelden and Wenenden as well as the high desert book.

The community Rye Castle consists of the districts Biberach ( 737 ) Ingstetten ( 377 ) Meßhofen (279 ), Rye Castle ( 278) Shooting ( 939), Schlee Book ( 99) and Unteregg (81 ) (in brackets: Population at 30 June 2012).

History

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the municipality of Rye Castle was re- formed by the merger of the previously independent municipalities in Biberach, Ingstetten and Meßhofen. Shooting was added on 1 May 1978.

The coat of arms description reads: " A is swept red top, is on green Dreienberg three golden Roggenähren, split; front in silver on the left inverted red reinforced black beaver holding a silver fish in its mouth, quartered rear of silver and black. "
