Rohilla

The Rohilla are a native of the Afghan raw root.

During the reign of the Mughals, they migrated to northern India and dominated by the decline of those power areas in the west of present-day Uttar Pradesh. The Rohilkhand region bears her name. In view of attacks by the Marathas they later went into an alliance with Oudh, but were defeated by the British East India Company in 1774 and annexed its territory.
