Tube in Krems Valley is a municipality with 1210 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the district of Steyr-Land in Traun quarter. The place is considered for a long time as a railroad hub. The competent court is the district of Steyr-Land.

Geography

Tube in Krems Valley lies on 346 m altitude in Traun quarter in the middle of the fertile Krems Valley, where the Sulzbach opens into the Krems. It is the westernmost municipality of the district of Steyr-Land, bordering the districts Kirchdorf and Linz-Land. The expansion is 6.6 kilometers from north to south, from west to east 4.9 km. The total area is 13.6 km ². 5.9% of the area is forested, 83.1 % of the area is used for agriculture.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the Duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Pipe was once an important railway junction - it met the lines Linz - Klaus - Selzthal, Bad Hall - tube and pipe - Wels. Culture and sights

  • Parish pipe in Krems Valley: built in 1660, with high altarpiece by Martin Johann Schmidt, called Kremser Schmidt, and valuable monstrance. The parish church of pipe in Krems Valley is located at the former castle hill. As early as 1330, " Upper and Lower tube " cited as an addition to the old mother parish churches Kirchberg.
