Rohrberg, Saxony-Anhalt

Tube is a municipality in the Altmark Salzwedel in Saxony- Anhalt, Germany.

Geography

Pipe Mountain is located 20 kilometers south of Salzwedel on the B 248. The Hartau, one about two feet wide and one meter deep stream, flows through the village. The municipality is situated on the Romantic Road. The municipality consists of the villages pipe mountain, Ahlum, United Bierstedt, Small Bierstedt, Stöckheim and Nieps since the local government reform of 2009.

History

Tube mountain was first mentioned in 1212 as Rorberge documented, but it has been already more established, because the stone church was built around 1175.

Through a field amendment agreement, the municipal councils of the municipalities Ahlum decided ( 6 May 2008 ), Bierstedt ( 14 May 2008 ) and pipe Berg ( 23 April 2008 ) that their communities are dissolved and merged into a new community named pipe Mountain. This agreement was approved by the county as a lower municipal supervisory authority and entered into force on 1 January 2009.

The municipal area enlarged by the fact of 10.49 km ² 38.29 km ².

Economy and infrastructure

In pipe mountain, there is a kindergarten and a sports club ( bowling, tennis, table tennis, gymnastics and others).

Bike paths lead to Beetzendorf and after Ahlum. There are extensive forests in the vicinity. Characteristic of the place in the Altmark are small roadside stands that are prepared by residents. There, eggs, flowers, fruits and vegetables can be purchased directly from the gardens.

Church

The Romanesque church of tube hill is built of field stones around the year 1175. From the Romanesque period, a baptismal font has been preserved. A bell dates from the year 1337, an inscription has as bell founder from a Hermannus. The bell is one of the oldest bronze bells of the Altmark circle Salzwedel. The pulpit dates from 1691, the altar of 1700, the pews and the gallery are from the 18th century. At some banks the arms of the patron family von der Schulenburg is recognizable.
