Rohrdamm (Berlin U-Bahn)

Metro Station pipe dam is a station of the Berlin U -Bahn line U7 in the district of Siemens City. It was opened on October 1, 1980 in direction Rathaus Spandau, in the wake of the North -west extension of this line. Until October 1, 1984, the station was the terminus Rohrdamm this line. The station is located near the intersection under Nonnendammallee and the eponymous street Rohrdamm. The station, which is referred to in the station list of the BVG with the symbol Rm, indeed has an escalator, but no elevator, so it is referred to as non-accessible. The platform is 110 feet long.

Also at this station, Rainer G. Rümmler the station design, while the environment played an important role and motives of firms located nearby industrial production of Siemens works have been integrated into the wall design. There is also the former head office of Siemens Schuckert and the built 1926-1927 derailleur high-rise, designed by Hans Hertlein the train station. Rümmler used here numerous stylized gears and mesh, the supports are covered with silver - gray metal cladding.

The Rohrdamm station has a parking area next to that will be used for individual dropouts trains, as well as an adjoining rectifier works. At the station there are currently neither a blind nor a lift control system. At least the latter should be installed according to plan the Berlin Senate until after 2010. If the financial situation of the Senate as part of the underground building program, however, a positive trend, would be a construction of an elevator system due to the noisy local transport plan " [ ... ] station [ s ] with high transfer passengers numbers [ ... ] " in the realm of possibility.
