Rojales

Rojales is a municipality in the province of Alicante (Spain). It is located on the southern Costa Blanca, in the district of Vega Baja and the river Segura. The majority of the population lives in Ciudad Quesada ( 9,061 inhabitants). It is a residential area, mainly foreigners live in the.

History

The history of the town of Rojales has both Arabic and Christian roots. Evidence of the festival of Moros y Cristianos, which is celebrated in the summer months, even today. The majority of the population lives in Ciudad Quesada ( with 9,061 inhabitants). Ciudad Quesada is a residential area in the predominantly EU foreigners live, but is also considered a stronghold of the Swiss on the Costa Blanca.

Attractions

The most important monuments are the church, the bike, the dam and the bridge that goes over the Segura. This bridge has three arches and was built during the reign of Carlos III. It was completed on 23 October 1790. Another interesting place is the caves on the right side of the river where nowadays painters and artists live. Numerous cultural events, such as pictures, photo, or sculpture exhibitions and concerts invite you to visit.

Sports

In Rojales there is the old Club Deportivo ( Sports Club) Thader who plays in the first Regional Group ( IV). The Sports Club Thader has a youth club (CD Thader B). This plays in the 2nd Regional.

In Rojales there is also a basic football school (Pre- Benjamin, Benjamin, Alevín, Infantil, Cadete and Juvenil ). There, playing children as young as 6 years old and waiting for a chance at age 19. Thader plays in the Municipal Stadium, the " Francisco Franco " was used to - it is located in the sports complex in the C /. Limonar. In the sports complex are the following facilities: a roofed hall, 3 football fields ( one field with grass, 1 box with soil, 1 field with artificial turf ( termination April/2007 ) ), a boules court, a system for Olympic shooting, swimming pools, ever a hall for football and basketball, a children's playground.
