Rok Perko

Rok Perko ( born June 10, 1985 in Tržič ) is a Slovenian alpine skier. He specializes in the disciplines of downhill and Super -G and is a member of the Slovenian national ski team.

Biography

His first FIS races contested Perko in January 2001. In February 2002, he first participated in a Junior World Championship, but did not get a 37th place out in the downhill. A year later, he finished 15th after all the departure place at the Junior World Championships. From the season 2003/ 04 Perko was also in the European Cup at the start. At the Junior World Championship 2004, he finished fifth in the downhill. In the same year he won his first of nine existing Slovenian league titles. At the Junior World Championship 2005 in Bardonecchia, he won the gold medal in the downhill and silver in the Super -G.

In the World Cup Perko is at the start since the 2004/ 05 season. On 3 February 2006, he took in the super combined in Chamonix with rank 29 his first World Cup points. The following year he participated in Åre, Sweden for the first time at a World Cup finals, but remained without result. In the European Cup from Slovenia won the downhill rankings for in the 2007/ 08 season with a win and two further podiums. At the 2009 World Championships in Val d'Isère, he finished in 22nd place and at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver on the 14th place in the downhill. At the World Championships 2011 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he finished 19th in this discipline.

In the first World Cup remained two twelfth places in the departures of Kvitfjell on March 7, 2009 and on 6 March 2010 his best results until he surprisingly reached the second place in the downhill in Val Gardena on December 15, 2012.
