Roland Gewalt

Roland Gewalt ( born April 2, 1958 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU).

Education and work

After graduating from college in 1978 graduated from violence studying law at the Free University of Berlin, which he finished in 1987 with the first in 1990 with the second legal state examination. His legal training graduated from violence in the District Court of Appeals Berlin. He then entered the service of the THA and from 1994 the Federal Agency for Special Tasks, where he was Head of the Department of Property Law to 1997. Then violence was head of the property department of a housing association. He is a founding member of the German European Security Association, founded in 2006.

Party

Since 1980, violence has been a member of the CDU. Here he engaged first in the Junge Union, the county chairman in Berlin- Reinickendorf he was from 1983 to 1985. 1983-2007, he was a county treasurer to the county board of the CDU Berlin- Reinickendorf. Since 2000 he has been Chairman of the CDU -Tegel. Since 2005, violence is also the country treasurer of the CDU Berlin.

Member of Parliament

Violence from 1985 to 1990 member of the district council of Berlin Reinickendorf, where he was also spokesman of the CDU parliamentary group from 1988.

From 1990 to 2002 he was then a member of the Berlin House of Representatives. Here he was from 1995 to 1998 and Vice Chairman from 1998 to 2001 parliamentary secretary of the CDU Group. From 1998 to 2002 he was also their home affairs spokesman.

From 2002 to 2005 violence was a member of the German Bundestag. He was pulled over the national list Berlin in the Bundestag. In the early elections to the German Bundestag in 2005, he was candidate for the constituency Berlin -Lichtenberg, however, missed the re-entry.

October 27, 2005 drew violence for the retired deputies Ingo Schmitt in the European Parliament after. He is a member of the Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs and the Delegation for relations with South Africa.
