Roland Hennig

Roland Hennig ( born December 19, 1967 in Hoyerswerda ) is a retired German racing cyclist.

Roland Hennig started for the SC Cottbus and was supervised by coach Heiko Salzwedel. His specialty was the team pursuit. In this discipline, he was twice East German champion in 1986 and 1987, each with Dirk Meier, Steffen Bloch wit and Thomas Will. In the same years, he finished with the train of four of the GDR second in UCI Track World Championships, in 1986 with Meier, Bloch wit and Bernd Dittert, 1987 Bloch joke, Meier and Carsten Wolf.

At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul Hennig won the GDR four silver medal, together with Wolf, Bloch wit and Meier. He was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver for this success. He received this medal also in 1986.
