Roland Kirstein

Roland Kirstein ( born August 10, 1965 in Bremen; Birth Name: Schroeder ) is a German economist and professor of business administration at the Otto -von- Guericke- University Magdeburg.

Life

Roland Kirstein graduated after high school in Bremen training as an industrial clerk. He studied law and economics at the University of the Saarland with completion Economics - diploma in 1994. His dissertation in 1998 Dieter Schmidtchen in Saarbrücken addressed the issue of " Imperfect Courts and contract compliance. An economic theory of judicial decisions. " This work was in 2000 awarded the " Eduard- Martin Award" of the Association of Friends of the University of Saarland.

The cumulative habilitation in 2004 included contributions to banking regulation, environmental economics and constitutional economics as well as to " strategic insurance ". Since October 2006, Roland Kirstein took the economics professor " Business Economics" at the Otto -von- Guericke- University Magdeburg. In August 2007 he was appointed professor of "Economics of Business and Law". In October 2012, he was elected Chairman of the Association of Law and Economics.

In 2002, Roland Kirstein, at the invitation of Prof. Bob Cooter the University of California, Berkeley Law School and at the invitation of Prof. Ted Bergstrom the Economics Department of the University of California, Santa Barbara, to do research on asymmetric information in consumer goods markets. In the years 2003 and 2005 he attended as a visiting professor to the University of California, Santa Barbara and held courses on "Law and Economics" ( Economic Analysis of Law ).

Roland Kirstein is married and has two sons. He is a fan and a sustaining member of the Bundesliga club SV Werder Bremen.
