Roland Mouret

Roland Mouret ( born August 27, 1961 in Lourdes, France ) is a French fashion designer.

Life

Mouret is the son of a butcher. At the age of 17 years (1978 ) he went to Paris, where he attended for three months, a fashion school. In 1981, Jean -Paul Gaultier discovered him in a nightclub and booked him as a model. Later he worked as a stylist for magazines such as ID, Glamour and others.

In the late 1980s he moved to London and opened a bar in Soho in 1996, he designed under the label of People Corporation first own fashion, and showed at the 1998 London Fashion Week his first collection under his own name.

In 2005 he invented the Galaxy dress made ​​known makers such as Demi Moore and Victoria Beckham. In 2006 he founded with Simon Fuller, the company " 19RM ". In 2007 he presented his fashion for the first time under the new label "RM" in Paris.

Mouret can neither draw nor sew, but his fashion designs directly on the model.
