Roland Wabra

Roland " Rolli " Wabra ( born November 25, 1935 in Prague, † October 17, 1994 on Federal Highway 6 ) was a German football player.

Wabra began his football career at SV Unterreichenbach. The goalkeeper then stood from 1957 to 1969 for the 1st FC Nuremberg between the posts. Between 1963 and 1969, he came to a total of 146 Bundesliga appearances. Overall, he brought it to 523 inserts for the " Club". His greatest successes were winning the German championship in 1961 and 1968 and winning the DFB - Cup 1962. Wabra was also the first goalkeeper in the Bundesliga, which was dismissed. He received the red card in the 28th minute of the game 25 matchday of the season 1966/67, in the match against Fortuna Dusseldorf. The defender Reinhold Adelmann then went to the gate, because the time was not allowed to be replaced. The club led to this point already 2-1 and Adelmann had to accept the compensation only in 82 minutes. Wabra then came again until the next season to use.

Wabra had two sons, who were also as a football player for the 1st FC Nuremberg active. The younger, Klaus, played as an amateur a league game for the club. After that he played in the league for Bayern Munich in 1860. The older, Rudolf, was indeed at Borussia Dortmund, 1.FC Nuremberg and 1.FC Cologne under contract, but did not in the Bundesliga for use. Abroad, he played as a regular player at FC Locarno and at Royal Antwerp FC. After his professional career he was at VfL Frohnlach in the Bavarian league contract.

Wabra came on 17 October 1994 by an accident involving a wrong-way driver on the A 6 killed.
