Rolando Cruz

Rolando Cruz ( born September 17, 1939) is a former Puerto Rican track and field athlete. He finished at the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 to fourth place in the pole vault.

Cruz took in 1956 in Melbourne at the Olympic Games in part, left there but with 4.00 meters in the qualifier. 1959 Cruz won with 4.32 meters bronze medal at the Pan American Games. At the Olympics 1960 he jumped 4.40 meters in the qualification. In the final, Cruz was up to 4.50 meters in the first attempt skip all heights. 4.55 meters reach him until the second trial and to 4.60 meters failed Cruz. Thus, Cruz finished fourth at the same level as Eeles Landström, who had overcome the 4.55 meters in the first attempt. 1960 and 1962 won the pole vault Cruz in the Ibero-American games. Cruz was at the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964 again there, but difference of 4.50 meters already out in qualifying.

Cruz had a competition weight of 68 kg at a height of 1.80 m.
