Rolf-Dieter Amend

Rolf -Dieter Amend (born 21 March 1949 in Magdeburg ) is a former German canoeist canoe and current coach.

Career

At the Olympic Games in 1972 Rolf -Dieter Amend was at the Augsburg Eiskanal canoe slalom Olympic champion in the two - Canadians.

Since completing his studies, he worked as a sports coach in canoe racing. When ASK Potsdam, he oversaw successful athletes such as Olympic champion Kay Bluhm and Torsten Gutsche. Since 1991 he has been national coach of the kayak men and also responsible for sports promotion group of the German Armed Forces in Potsdam. Among the athletes personally supervised by him include, among others the Olympic champion Mark Zabel, Olaf Winter, Manuela Mucke and the current squad athletes Katrin Wagner -Augustin, Tim Wieskötter and Ronald Rough. As national coach, he's been involved in nine Olympic victories.

In 2008 he was awarded by the German Olympic Sports Confederation as coach of the year.

Amend is married and has two children. He lives in New driving country.
