Rolf Griebel

Rolf Griebel -Eberhard ( born September 15, 1949 in Ansbach ) is a German librarian.

Career

Griebel put on math and science high school in Ansbach Plate from the High School and studied history, German language and social sciences at the University of Würzburg. During this time, he was a scholar of the German National Academic Foundation. After the state examination for secondary school teaching and promotion, he completed a clerkship Library at the University Library of Regensburg and at the Bavarian library school in Munich.

From 1980 to 1987 Griebel was the Directorate and Research Specialist at the University Library Bamberg from 1987 to 1994 Head of the Acquisition Department of the University Library of Erlangen-Nuremberg and there also deputy director. In 1994 he worked as Head of the Department of Acquisition to the Bavarian State Library. In 2000 he was appointed Director and Representative of the Director-General. Since 2004, Griebel is General of the Bavarian State Library. Under his leadership, the house was named 2008 Library of the Year.
