Rolf Kalmuczak

Rolf Kalmuczak ( born April 17, 1938 in Nordhausen / Harz, † March 10, 2007 in Garmisch -Partenkirchen ) was one of the most successful German writer and wrote under pseudonyms over 100 screenplays, various young people's books, illustrated novels and radio plays.

Life

Kalmuczak was an editor at daily newspapers, freelancer at Stern and Quick, lecturer and an author of the Jerry Cotton series. He was known primarily as " Stefan Wolf " with the TKKG Books series. The total circulation of his books TKKG amounts reported in the press on 14 million from the TKKG radio plays, a total of nearly 30 million cassettes and CDs over the counter. Kalmuczak visited in his youth the boarding school Pädagogium Bad Sachsa, the scenes of the series are to be found partly in Bad Sachsa and environment. Together with his wife Maria Inca Kalmuczak also wrote the screenplay for the first TKKG movie Dragon's Eye. In an interview, he described it as his " best editor ".

Kalmuczaks first Cotton novel was published in 1962 as Volume 237, under the title The fence who sells death. About 50 novels and book at the 20 paperbacks with the series hero Jerry Cotton go, according to publisher information on his account. His last Cotton appeared at the beginning of the 1980s. Since 1966 Kalmuczak has written using more than 100 pseudonyms total of 160 youth books and 2,700 crime stories for magazines, 36 screenplays, 170 paperback thrillers, Issue 200 novels and several radio plays. For seven years he was on the basis of this prolific writer performance in the Guinness Book of World Records.

On an idea of Kalmuczak based also at that time quite successful ZDF - eve - crime series Dexter Cliff with Hans von Borsody in the title role, was broadcast from 1966-1968 a total of 26 episodes.

Rolf Kalmuczak died on 10 March 2007 after a long illness at the age of 68 years. Most recently, he lived in a farmhouse in Garmisch -Partenkirchen. He was married and had a daughter.
