Rolf Olinger

Ralph Olinger ( born December 17, 1924 in Engelberg, † 25 June 2006) was a Swiss ski racer. He was successfully active in the 1940s and especially in the downhill.

Career

Olinger was a member of the Ski Club of Engelberg. Between 1947 and 1949 he was for three consecutive times Swiss champion in the downhill. At the Olympic Winter Games in 1948 in St. Moritz hope for a medal after a serious training accident seemed to burst. On February 2, 1948 but then he brought in the downhill at the same time with his compatriot Karl Molitor the bronze medal.

Two years later he was a member of the Swiss National Ski Team at the World Championships in Oslo, where he scored the best result of ninth place in the ninth descent.
