Roller sport

Skates is the generic term applied by roller skates, inline skates or skateboards sports.

Sports by sports equipment

These sports use the exercise equipment in varying degrees:

  • Roller hockey and roller derby be exercised only on roller skates.
  • Artistic roller skating is practiced in most disciplines on roller skates, but there are also performed on special inline skates Inline Artistic discipline.
  • Inline Skater Hockey (formerly skater hockey with ball ) and speed skating (formerly roll high-speed ) can traditionally be exercised with roller skates, however, the inliner have prevailed.
  • Inline Hockey ( with Puck ) and Inline Downhill be exercised on skates.

Association

The German umbrella organization is the German Skates and Inline Association ( DRIV), which traded until 1998 as German roller sports federation. In Austria, the roller sports will be organized since the establishment in 1937 by Austrian Skates and Inline Skating Association ( ÖRSV ) and in Switzerland since 1924 by the Swiss Roll Sports Association ( SRV ), the roller hockey is operated independently.

The European Confederation since 1976 of the Confédération Européenne de Roller Skating (CERS ), the international umbrella organization, even for inline sports, since 1924, the Fédération Internationale de Roller Sports ( FIRS ). This does not include the Inline Skater Hockey, which is organized by the International Inline Skater Hockey Federation ( IISHF ) and the category of inline skating, for the European-level EIFSA (European Inline Figure Skating Association) and at the international level IIFSA (International InlineFigure Skating Association ) are responsible.
