Rollover cable

A rollover cable is a network cable to connect a computer to the console port of a network device, such as a router, an access point or a firewall. It is a proprietary format of Cisco Systems, Inc. as an alternative to the nine- pin connector of the serial interface. The cable is flat and usually blue and has an RJ -45 connectors. You will recognize it because the connection is at one end of the head. It is typically used for maintenance on the network devices.
