The Roma Trastevere train station is a railway station in the Trastevere district of Rome. The regional transport node is managed by the party responsible for 103 medium-sized Italian stations FS subsidiary CentoStazioni. Its neighboring stations are Ostiense and Quattro Venti or Villa Bonelli.
Location
The station is located at Piazza Flavio Biondo on the southern edge of the Roman town district Trastevere, near the border of the districts of Marconi and Portuense at the junction of railway lines Rome -Pisa and Rome - Fiumicino Airport.
History
The first station of Trastevere was in 1856 at the Porta Portese in operation, as the railway line between Rome and Civitavecchia was put into operation. This was later to Piazza Ippolito Nievo. The current station was opened to traffic on May 1, 1911, he replaced the old railway station at Piazza Ippolito Nievo which continued to be used until the 1950s as a goods station. The station building was built by architect Paolo Bo.
