Roman Abelevich Kachanov

Roman Abelewitsch Katschanow (Russian Роман Абелевич Качанов; born February 25, 1921 in Smolensk, Soviet Union, † July 4, 1993 in Moscow, Russia) was a Russian animator, director and screenwriter. Enormous popularity in the Soviet Union reached its four films around the figures Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka.

Life

In 1946, he began his career at Soviet animation studio Soyuzmultfilm, where he worked as an animator for ten years. His first film The Old Man and the Crane ( Starik i schurawl ) he created in 1957. The style of the film more strongly from that of the other former Soviet animated films from.
