Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bangalore

The Archdiocese of Bangalore (Latin Archidioecesis Bangalorensis ) is a Roman Catholic Archdiocese in India.

History

The diocese was originally a part of the Mysore mission. Bangalore was established on 13 February 1940 as its own diocese and collected on September 19, 1953 on the archdiocese. On November 14, 1988 Part of the diocesan territory to the newly erected Diocese of Shimoga Location.

The archbishopric subject to the suffragan Belgaum, Bellary, Chikmagalur, Gulbarga, Karwar, Mangalore, Mysore and Shimoga and Udupi.
