Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte

The Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte ( Latin: Archidioecesis Bellohorizontinus ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais.

History

The Diocese of Belo Horizonte was posted on February 11, 1921 by Pope Benedict XV. built out of territory of the Archdiocese of Mariana and this is a suffragan. On February 1, 1924, the Diocese of Belo Horizonte was raised to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Belo Horizonte was on December 20, 1940 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese Oliveira. For more territorial concessions were made on July 16, 1955 foundation of the diocese Sete Lagoas and on July 11, 1958 foundation of the diocese Divinópolis.
