Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Campinas

The Archdiocese of Campinas (Latin: Archidioecesis Campinensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Campinas, state of São Paulo.

History

The Archdiocese of Campinas was born on June 7, 1908 nimiam by Pope Pius X with the Apostolic Constitution Dioecesium erected as a diocese of the Archdiocese of territory from Campinas São Paulo. The Diocese of Campinas was the Archdiocese of São Paulo is a suffragan. On July 24, 1925, the Diocese of Campinas were parts of its territory from the foundation of the Diocese of Bragança Paulista. A further transfer of territory took place on February 26, 1944 establishing the bishopric of Piracicaba.

On April 19, 1958, the Diocese of Campinas by Pope Pius XII was. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Antistitum to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Campinas announced on November 7, 1966 from parts of its territory to the founding of the Diocese of Jundiaí. Other annexations took place on 29 April 1976 establishing the bishopric of Limeira and on 23 December 1997 establishing the bishopric of Amparo.
