Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Capiz

The Archdiocese of Capiz (Latin: Archidioecesis Capicensis ) is a location in the Philippines Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Roxas City. It includes the province of Capiz.

History

Pope Leo XIII. founded it on 27 January in 1951 of territory of the Diocese of Jaro and became the Archdiocese of Cebu as a suffragan assumed. On June 29, 1951, was part of the ecclesiastical province of the Archdiocese of Jaro.

On January 17, 1976, it was elevated to the rank of Metropolitanerzbistums.
