Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cebu

The Archdiocese of Cebu (Latin: Archidioecesis nominis Jesus Caebuanus o ) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the Philippines. It was built from the diocese of Manila out in 1595 as diocese Cebu and 1934 raised to the archbishopric. Its territory includes the island of Cebu. The diocese announced on September 17, 1902 from parts of its territory establishing the Apostolic Prefecture Mariana Islands. In 2004 it belonged to 3.27 million people, representing 89 percent of the population of Cebu.
