Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Curitiba

The Archdiocese of Curitiba (Latin: Archidioecesis Curitibensis ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic Metropolitan diocese based in Curitiba, in the state of Paraná.

History

The Diocese of Curitiba was established on April 27, 1892 from cessions of territory of the Archdiocese of São Paulo out. On 10 May 1926, the survey was conducted at a archbishopric.

There were the suffragan Ponta Grossa (1926 ), Diocese of Paranaguá (1962), Guarapuava (1965 ), União da Vitória (1976) and São José dos Pinhais (2006) erected. The Eparchy of São João Batista em Established in 1926, Curitiba the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church was also assumed as suffragan.
