Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Feira de Santana

The Archdiocese of Feira de Santana (Latin: Sanctae Archidioecesis Fori Annae ) is a located in Brazil Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Feira de Santana, Bahia.

History

The Diocese of Feira de Santana was on July 21, 1962, Pope John XXIII. built with the Papal Bull Novae Ecclesiae out of territory of the Archdiocese of São Salvador da Bahia and this is a suffragan. On 16 January 2002 the diocese of Feira de Santana was elevated by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution ad totius dominici gregis to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Feira de Santana announced on 21 September 2005 from parts of its territory to the foundation of the diocese Serrinha.
