Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Foggia-Bovino
The Archdiocese of Foggia - Bovino (Latin: Archidioecesis Fodianus - Bovinensis, Italian: Arcidiocesi di Foggia - Bovino ) is a located in Italy Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Foggia.
History
The Archdiocese of Foggia - Bovino was posted on June 25, 1855 by Pope Pius IX. built out of territory of the diocese of Troia as a diocese Foggia and the Holy See under the direct authority. On September 29, 1933, the Diocese of Foggia was assumed by the Consistorial with the decree Iam pridem the Archdiocese of Benevento suffragan.
On April 30, 1979, the Diocese of Foggia was elevated by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Sacrorum Antistites to an archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Foggia was incorporated into the diocese of Bovino on 30 September 1986.
