Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Hyderabad

The Archdiocese of Hyderabad (Latin: Archidioecesis Hyderabadensis ) is a located in India Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Hyderabad.

History

The Archdiocese of Hyderabad in 1851 by Pope Pius IX. from the Apostolic Vicariate of territory Madras established as Apostolic Vicariate of Hyderabad.

On September 1, 1886, the Vicariate Apostolic of Hyderabad was by Pope Leo XIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Humanae salutis to the diocese and the Archdiocese of Madras is a suffragan. The Diocese of Hyderabad announced on June 15, 1928 parts of its territory establishing the mission sui juris from Bellary. Other annexations took place on January 10, 1933 establishing the mission sui juris Bezwada and on December 22, 1952 Foundation of the Diocese of Warangal.

On September 19, 1953, the Diocese of Hyderabad by Pope Pius XII was. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Mutant res to the archbishopric. The Archdiocese of Hyderabad on 31st May 1976 from parts of its territory to the founding of the diocese of Nalgonda. For more territorial concessions were made on 17 December 1977 on the establishment of the Diocese of Aurangabad and on 24 June 2005 establishing the diocese of Gulbarga.

The Archdiocese of Hyderabad comprises the districts of Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Medak and Nizamabad, Andhra Pradesh.
