Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Korhogo

The Archdiocese of Korhogo (Latin: Archidioecesis Korhogoensis ) is a location in the Ivory Coast Roman Catholic archdiocese headquartered in Korhogo. It includes the départements Boundiali, Korhogo and Tengrela in the region Savanes.

History

Pope Paul V founded the Apostolic Constitution Christ mandatum on October 15, 1971, the Diocese of Korhogo from cessions of territory of the diocese of Katiola, which was the Archdiocese of Abidjan assumed as suffragan.

With the bull Ad aptius providendum it was collected on 19 December 1994 in the rank of a Metropolitan bishopric and lost part of its territory in favor of the establishment of the diocese Odienné.
