Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Lingayen-Dagupan

The Archdiocese of Lingayen - Dagupan (Latin: Archidioecesis Lingayensis - Dagupanensis ) is a location in the Philippines Roman Catholic archdiocese based in Dagupan City.

History

The Archdiocese of Lingayen - Dagupan was on May 19, 1928 Pope Pius XI. built with the Apostolic Constitution continuam omnium out of territory of the Diocese of Nueva Segovia and of the Archdiocese of Manila as a diocese and the Archdiocese of Lingayen Manila is a suffragan. On February 11, 1954, the Diocese of Lingayen was renamed the Diocese of Lingayen - Dagupan. The Diocese of Lingayen - Dagupan was on June 12, 1955 from parts of its territory establishing the Territorialprälatur Iba. For more territorial concessions were made on 16 February 1963 establishing the dioceses Cabanatuan and Tarlac.

The Diocese of Lingayen - Dagupan was born on February 16, 1963 by Pope John XXIII. charged with the Apostolic Constitution Exterior Ecclesiae to the archbishopric. On January 12, 1985, the Archdiocese of Lingayen - Dagupan were parts of its territory from establishing the dioceses of Alaminos and Urdaneta.

The Archdiocese of Lingayen - Dagupan comprises the central part of the province of Pangasinan.
